Teak Reclining Buddha

This reclining Buddha image is crafted of unfinished teak and is 14 inches long by 4 inches high by 2.5 inches deep and weighs 680 grams. Teak is a beautiful wood and it is an ideal medium for carving. Teak comes from suppliers in northern Thailand and the lumber is first kiln dried to a moisture content of 9% or less. The wood panels are joined together as needed for the art work desired. This is done in the same manner that is used to make furniture (table tops and the like) from more than one piece of teak. After the lumber is dried and the panels are constructed THEN the carvers do their work.
